Getting to Know Me: Introducing Myself to the Blogosphere

Hello readers,

This is my first official blog entry for Ando Wellness, new destination for physiotherapy in Liverpool. I’ve been contemplating how to start this for a few days and concluded that the best way is to introduce myself and share how I arrived at this point.

My name is Andrius, originally from Lithuania. I moved to the UK seven years ago and have since made Liverpool my home.

My journey into sports massage therapy began somewhat humorously. A family friend once told me I had “good energy and good hands” and suggested I try massage therapy. A few months later, I earned a basic massage diploma from my hometown college.

What started as a hobby for friends and family evolved into a passion. I pursued a degree in Physiotherapy at Klaipeda State College, followed by top-up studies at Klaipeda University, earning a Bachelor’s degree.

After gaining three years of experience in a private clinic in Lithuania, I ventured abroad, living in Portugal and Ireland before settling in the UK. Over the past seven years, I’ve worked within the NHS across various trusts, specialising in musculoskeletal care but also, worked within Persistent pain, fibromyalgia and long covid services. I’ve trained in acupuncture, dry cupping, and sports massage therapy, with a particular interest in manual therapy techniques and holistic wellness services.

On a personal note, I transitioned from being a gym enthusiast to embracing running and yoga. Now, you might find me jogging through Liverpool’s parks, practicing yoga, walking my dog, or traveling around the UK with my wife. I’m also planning to train as a yoga instructor to incorporate that into Ando Wellness.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to sharing more insights and experiences with you in future posts.

Warm regards,

Andrius
